OnNovember14,2001,anextraordinarilylargeearthquake(MS8.1)occurredontheHohSaiHusegmentoftheEasternKunlunFault,inthenorthernQinghai-TibetanPlateau.Theseismogenicfault,theHohSaiHusegment,isaleft-lateralfaultwithahighsliprateingeologicalhistory,withtheaverageslipratereaching(14.8±2.8)mm/asincethelatePleistocene.DifferentslipratesoftheHohSaiHusegmentcanaffectfaultmotioninthefuture.Therefore,thispaperanalyzestheeffectofdifferentslipratesanddifferentinitialfrictioncoefficientsonthefaultplaneoftheHohSaiHusegmentoftheeasternKunlunFaultontherupturebehaviorsofthefault.Inthisresearch,weapplythesingledegreeofspringblockmodelcontrolledbytherateandstate-dependentfrictionalconstitutivelaws.Usingthefaultdislocationmodelandbasedonancientearthquakeresearch,historicalearthquakesdataandtheachievementsofpreviousresearchers,weobtainedtheparametersofthismodel.ThroughnumericalsimulationoftherupturingmotionoftheHohSaiHusegmentinthenext6500yearsunderdifferentsliprates,wefindthatafasterannualslipratewillshortentherecurrenceintervaloftheearthquake.Forexample,theearthquakerecurrenceintervalis2100aatasliprateof0.014m/a,whichagreeswithpreviousresearch,but,therecurrenceintervalwillbe1000~1500aand2100~2500a,correspondingtotheslipratesof0.018m/aand0.008m/a,respectively.Thefaultslipratehasnoregulareffectonthecoseismicsliprateandfaultdisplacementinanearthquake.Theinitialfrictioncoefficientonthefaultsurfacehasaneffectontheearthquakerecurrenceinterval.Asmallerinitialfrictioncoefficientwilllengthentheearthquakerecurrenceinterval.Atthesametime,thesmallerinitialfrictioncoefficientwillleadtolargerslipratesandfaultdisplacementwhenearthquakesoccur.
