Inthispaper,wepresentanewlightweightblockciphernamedeight-sidedfortress(ESF),whichissuitableforresource-constrainedenvironmentssuchassensornetworksandlow-costradiorrequencyidentification(RFID)tags.Meanwhile,wepresentthespecification,designrationaleandevaluationresultsintermsofthehardwareimplementation.Forrealizingbothefficiencyandsecurityinembeddedsystems,similartotheotherlightweightblockciphers,ESFis64bitsblocklengthandkeysizeis80bits.Itisinspiredfrom
