摘要
Thequestforenergyefficiencyhasgrowingimportanceinhighperformancemany-coresystems.However,incurrentpractices,thepowerslacks,whicharethedifferencesobservedbetweentheinputpowerbudgetandtheactualpowerconsumedinthemany-coresystems,aretypicallyignored,thusleadingtopoorenergyefficiency.Inthispaper,weproposeaschemetoeffectivelypowertheon-chipcommunicationsbyexploitingtheavailablepowerslackthatistotallywastedincurrentmany-coresystems.Asso,thedemandforextraenergyfromexternalpowersources(e.g.,batteries)isminimized,whichhelpsimprovetheoverallenergyefficiency.Inessence,thepowerslackisstoredateachnodeandtheproposedroutingalgorithmusesadynamicprogrammingnetworktofindthegloballyoptimalpath,alongwhichthetotalenergystoredonthenodesisthemaximum.Experimentalresultshaveconfirmedthattheproposedscheme,withlowhardwareoverhead,canreducelatencyandextraenergyconsumptionby44%and48%,respectively,comparedwiththetwocompetingroutingmethods.IndexTerms?Adaptiverouting,dynamic
