摘要
Multisatellitedataisusedtoanalyzethecharacteristicsofthreeeyewallreplacementcycles(ERCs)duringthelifetimeofTyphoonMuifa(1109).Spiralrainbandsevolutions,concentriceyewall(CE)structuremodes,CEdurations,andintensitychangesarediscussedindetail.Inaddition,anERCevolutionmodelofTyphoonMuifaisgiven.Therearefourmainfindings.(1)Theouterspiralrainbandjoinsendtoendtoformtheoutereyewallafteritdisconnectsfromtheoriginal(inner)eyewall.Theinnereyewallweakensastheoutereyewallbecomesaxisymmetricandisintensified.Thecontractionoftheoutereyewallcausestheinnereyewalltodissipaterapidly.Finally,theERCendswithanannulareyewallorspiralrainbands.(2)AlthoughtheCEdurationtimesofTyphoonMuifa’sthreeERCscoveredalargerange,theCEstructureswereallmaintainedforapproximately5hfromtheformationoftheaxisymmetricoutereyewalltotheendofthecycle.(3)Thereisnoobviousprecipitationreflectivityintheeyeormoatregionforthesubsidenceflow.Theconvectionwithinthetwoeyewallsisorganizedasaradiallyoutwardslopewithincreasingheight.(4)TyphoonintensityestimationresultsbasedonADTmaynotexplaintheintensityvariationsassociatedwithERCcorrectly,whilethetyphoon’swarmcoredataretrievedfromAMSU-Aworkswell.
