Microstructures of Coal and Their Relation with Gas Outhursts——A Case Study of the Yutianbao Coal Mine, Nantong, Sichuan

摘要 Outburstsofcoalandgasarecloselyrelatedtocoalmicrostructures.Partofmicrostructuresofcoalareassociatedwiththecoal-formingenvironments,butmostofthemareproducedbytectonicdeformation.Inthispaperthetypesofmicrostructuresofcoalaredistinguishedaccordingtothetypesandfeaturesoftectonicdeformations,whichisconvenientandcanbeeasilyemployedbygeologists.BasedontheSEMstudyoncoalpetrographyofNo.4andNo.6coalseamsoftheYutianbaocoalmine,Nantongcoalfield,fivetypesofcoalaredistinguished:nontectoniccoal,microfissurecoal,microcleavagecoal,cataclasticcoalandmyloniticcoal.Themicrostructuralfeaturesofvarioustypesaredescribedindetailandtheirgeologicalimplicationsandrela-tionshipswithcoalandgasoutburstsarealsodiscussed.Specialmentionismadeofaseriesofthefeaturesofplasticdeformationofmyloniticcoal.Itisconcludedthat,otherthingsbeingequal,theplacewithmyloniticcoalisthemostlikelyrisksiteforoutbusts.Theprocessandmechanismofcoalandgasoutburstsaresuggestedbasedonaseriesofchangesinmicrostructuresofthecoalafterbursting.Intheprocessofgasoutbursts,theplasticdeformationissuperimposedbybrittledeformation,thusejectinglargequantitiesofcoaldust.
