HOPF BIFURCATION OF AN OSCILLATOR WITH QUADRATIC AND CUBIC NONLINEARITIES AND WITH DELAYED VELOCITY FEEDBACK

摘要 ThispaperstudiesthelocaldynamicsofanSDOFsystemwithquadraticandcubicstiffnessterms,andwithlineardelayedvelocityfeedback.Theanalysisindicatesthatforasufficientlylargevelocityfeedbackgain,theequilibriumofthesystemmayundergoanumberofstabilityswitcheswithanincreaseoftimedelay,andthenbecomesunstableforever.Ateachcriticalvalueoftimedelayforwhichthesystemchangesitsstability,agenericHopfbifurcationoccursandaperiodicmotionemergesinaone-sidedneighbourhoodofthecriticaltimedelay.ThemethodofFredholmalternativeisappliedtodeterminethebifurcatingperiodicmotionsandtheirstability.Itstressesontheeffectofthesystemparametersonthestableregionsandtheamplitudesofthebifurcatingperiodicsolutions.
