摘要
Attheturnofthecentury,sharpchangesinSino-Indianrelationshavedrawnwideattentionoftheinternationalcommunity.Relationsbetweenthetwocountries,improvedanddevelopedsincetheyrestoredexchangesofambassadorsin1976,sufferedheavysetbacksbecauseofIndia'nucleartestsinMay1998.Butbothsideshaveproceededinallcasesfromtheoverallpublicinterestandmadejointefforts,hencequicklyovercomingtheirtemporarydifficulties.EversinceJune1999,thetwonationshaverestoredanddevelopedtiesonthebasisoftheFivePrinciples.Thepastfiveyearshavewitnessedobviousimprovementandrapiddevelopmentofrelationsbetweenthetwosides.Thiscanbeseenfromthefollowingrespects.
