摘要
ObjectiveTostudytheinfluenceofunilateralairflowratechangeontheresultofcalorictest.MaterialsandMethodsTheunilateralweakness(UW)indexwascalculatedwhentheairflowratewassetat6L/mininbothears(calledsymmetricstimulation)andagainwhenitwassetat6L/mininleftearand3L/minintherightear(calledasymmetricstimulation).Eachindividualsubjectwastestedwithbothsymmetricalandasymmetricalstimulations.Pairedttestwasusedtoexaminethedifferencesbetweenresultsfromsymmetricalandasymmetricalstimulations.ResultUWindexdecreasedinresponsetoasymmetricalstimulation.ConclusionUnilaterallydecreasedairflowratecanproduceindicessuggestingipsilateralUW,whichcanbemisleading.
