简介:Multilevelphotoncombinedwithbinarypulsepositionmodulation(BPPM)(Manchesterpulsedsignals),isintroducedinthisletter.Initially,errorprobabilityderivationandexplanationforfour-levelphotoncommunicationswiththatBPPMispresented.Next,the2-levelphotoncommunicationsmatchingwithBPPMisproposed.Forperformancecomparison,itisdonewiththattheconventionalschemebyfxingthebackgroundnoiseandalsoincreasingnumberofphotonperslot.Successfullywithapplyingconvolutionalcodingforsystemimproving,theproposedmultilevelphotononBPPMwiththiscodingschemeachieveshighergain.Finally,thisworkalsobeneftstoimprovingforfurtherperformancewhenconsideringwithmultilevelerrorcontrolcodingaswell.
简介:Weproposetheuseofapowerpulseshapeofthewidelyknownopticalsoliton,correspondingtothehyperbolicsecantsquarefunction,forbothconventionalatmosphericopticalcommunicationsystemsand,especially,fornewfull-opticalwirelesscommunications.Weanalyzetheperformanceoftheproposedpulseintermsofpeak-to-averageopticalpowerratio(PAOPR)andbiterrorrate(BER).Duringtheanalysis,wecomparetheproposedpulseshapeagainstconventionalrectangularandGaussianpulseshapeswithreduceddutycycle.Resultsshowthenoticeablesuperiorityoftheproposedpulseforatmosphericopticallinks.

简介:Thestablemulticastflowaggregation(MFA)problemininternetprotocol(IP)overopticalnetworkunderthedynamicalscenarioisstudied.Givenanopticalnetworktopology,thereisasetofheadendsandaccessroutersattachedtotheopticalnetwork,inwhicheachheadendcanprovideasetofprograms(IPmulticastingflows)andeachaccessrouterrequestsasetofprograms,wefindasetofstablelight-treestoaccommodatetheoptimallyaggregatedmulticastIPflowsiftherequestsofaccessrouterschangeddynamically.Weintroduceaprogramcorrelationmatrixtodescribethepreferenceofendusers'requests.AstheoriginalMFAproblemisNP-complete,aheuristicapproach,namedmostcorrelatedprogramfirst(MCPF),ispresentedandcomparedwiththeextendedleasttreefirst(ELTF)algorithmwhichistopology-aware.SimulationresultsshowthatMCPFcanachievebetterperformancethanELTFintermsofstabilitywithnegligibleincrementofnetworkresourceusage.
