简介:Thispapercontributestoextractinginformationfromsignalsofbroadbandultrasonicattenuationspectrumforeffectiveutilizationinparticlesizecharacterization.Thesingleparticlescatteringmodelandthecoupled-phasemodelareformulatedsimultaneously,therelationshipbetweenparticlesizedistributionandultrasonicspectrumisestablished,andaconvergencecriterionforcalculationisquantified.Demonstrationinversionbytheoptimumregularizationfactormethodiscarriedouttoyieldtypicalnumericalresultsfordiscussion.Withtheexperimentalset-updevelopedbytheInstituteofParticleandTwo-PhaseFlowMeasurement(IPTFM)attheUniversityofShanghaiforScienceandTechnology,sandsedimentparticlesizeismeasuredbyattenuationspectrumandanalyzedusingtheaboveinversionalgorithmandtheoreticalmodels.Tovalidatetheproposedultrasonicspectrumparticlesizingmethod,resultsarecomparedwiththoseobtainedbymicroscopy.

简介:Anewpolarizationgatingisdemonstratedbyourprinciple-of-proofexperiment,whichistheoreticallyproposedtogeneratetheisolatedordoubleattosecondpulseswiththemulti-cycledrivinglaserpulseinthepreviouswork[OpticsExpress.20,5196(2012)].Intheexperiment,thepolarizationgatingisformedbytwoorthogonally-polarizedlinearlychirpedmulti-cyclelaserpulses,andthespectralbandwidthsoftheharmonicsarebroadenedbymorethantwotimes,whichagreewiththeprevioustheoreticalwork.
简介:Theobjectiveofthestudywastoelucidateopticalcharacteristicsofthechromophorestructuresoffluorescentproteins.RamanspectraofcommonlyusedGFP-likefluorescentproteins(FPs)withdiverseemissionwavelengths(green,yellow,cyanandred),includingtheenhancedhomogenousFPsEGFP,EYFP,andECFP(fromjellyfish)aswellasmNeptune(fromseaanemone)weremeasured.High-qualityRamanspectrawereobtainedandmanymarkerbandsforthechromophoreoftheFPswereidentifiedviaassignmentofRamanspectrabands.WereportthepresenceofapositivelinearcorrelationbetweentheRamanbandshiftofCs=C6andtheexcitationenergyofFPs,demonstratedbyplottingabsorptionmaxima(cm-1)againstthepositionoftheRamanbandCs=C6inEGFP,ECFP,EYFP,theanionicchromophoreandtheneutralchromophore.ThisstudyrevealednewRamanfeaturesinthechromophoresoftheobservedFPs,andmaycontributetoadeeperunderstandingoftheopticalpropertiesofFPs.
简介:Basedonthe4×4matrixmethod,wepresenttheoreticalcalculationsofthemagneto-opticpolarKerreffectwiththeincidentenergyingranularfilms.Itisfoundthatthesimulatedresultsareingoodagreementwithexperimentalones.Inaddition,Kerrrotationandellipticityasfunctionsofincidentangleandmagneticfilmthicknesshavebeencomputed.ThecalculatedresultsindicatethattheKerrspectraasafunctionoftheincidentanglerevealamaximumatcertainincidentanglesandtheKerrspectraappeartobeperiodicalandhavedampedoscillationasafunctionofthemagneticfilmthickness,whichisimportantforthedesignofthematerialsinthefuture.

简介:Newmarkdesignspectrahavebeenimplementedinmanybuildingcodes,especiallyinbuildingcodesforcriticalstructures.PreviousstudiesshowthatNewmarkdesignspectraexhibitloweramplitudesathighfrequenciesandlargeramplitudesatlowfrequenciesincomparisonwithspectradevelopedbystatisticalmethods.Toresolvethisproblem,thisstudyconsidersthreesuitesofgroundmotionsrecordedatthreetypesofsites.Usingthesegroundmotions,influencesoftheshear-wavevelocity,earthquakemagnitudes,source-to-sitedistancesontheratiosofgroundmotionparametersarestudied,andspectrumamplificationfactorsarestatisticallycalculated.Spectralboundsforcombinationsofthreesitecategoriesandtwocasesofearthquakemagnitudesareestimated.Sitedesignspectrumcoefficientsforthethreesitecategoriesconsideringearthquakemagnitudesareestablished.TheproblemsofNewmarkdesignspectracouldberesolvedbyusingthesitedesignspectrumcoefficientstomodifythespectralvaluesofNewmarkdesignspectraintheaccelerationsensitive,velocitysensitive,anddisplacementsensitiveregions.
简介:Featurereductionisakeyprocessinpatternrecognition.Thispaperdealswiththefeaturereductionmethodsforatime-shiftinvariantfeature,powerspectrum,inRadarAutomaticTargetRecognition(RATR)usingHigh-ResolutionRangeProfiles(HRRPs).Severalexistingfeaturereductionmethodsinpatternrecognitionareanalyzed,andaweightedfeaturereductionmethodbasedonFisher'sDiscriminantRatio(FDR)isproposedinthispaper.AccordingtothecharacteristicsofradarHRRPtargetrecognition,thisproposedmethodsearchestheoptimalweightvectorforpowerspectraofHRRPsbymeansofaniterativealgorithm,andthusreducesfeaturedimensionality.Comparedwiththemethodofusingrawpowerspectraandsomeexistingfeaturereductionmethods,theweightedfeaturereductionmethodcannotonlyreducefeaturedimensionality,butalsoimproverecognitionperformancewithlowcomputationcomplexity.Intherecognitionexperimentsbasedonmeasureddata,theproposedmethodisrobusttodifferenttestdataandachievesgoodrecognitionresults.
