简介:Anisotropicviscoelasticmechanicsisstudiedunderanisotropicsubspace.Itisprovedthattherealsoexisttheeigenpropertiesforviscoelasticmedium.ThemodalMaxwell'sequation,modaldynamicalequation(ormodalequilibriumequation)andmodalcompatibilityequationareobtained.Basedonthem,anewtheoryofanisotropicviscoelasticmechanicsispresented.Theadvantagesofthetheoryareasfollows:1)theequationsareallscalar,andindependentofeachother.Thenumberofequationsisequaltothatofanisotropicsubspaces,2)nomatterhowcomplicatedtheanisotropyofsolidsmaybe,theformofthedefiniteequationandtheboundaryconditionareincommonandexplicit,3)thereisnodistinctionbetweentheforcemethodandthedisplacementmethodforstatics,thatis,theequilibriumequationandthecompatibilityequationareindistinguishableunderthemechanicalspace,4)eachmodalequationhasadefinitephysicalmeaning,forexample,themodalequationsoforderoneandordertwoexpressthevolumechangeandsheardeformationrespectivelyforisotropicsolids,5)therealsoexistthepotentialfunctionswhicharesimilartothestressfunctionsofelasticmechanicsforviscoelasticmechanics,buttheyarenotman-made,6)thefinalsolutionofstressorstrainisgivenintheformofmodalsuperimposition,whichissuitabletotheproximatecalculationinengineering.
简介:Thisinvestigationdiscussesfurthertheextenttowhichanewdamagetheoryrecentlyproposedbytheauthorcanserveasaunifiedtheorytocharacter-izevariousductilefailureproblems.Ageneraldamageintegralandcorrespondingcriterionforductilefracturearepresented.Anewparameterforductilefractureisemphasized,whichisexperimentallyverifiedasamaterialconstantindependentofstressstate,hasclearphysicalmeaning,andcaneasilybedetermined.Theapplica-bilityofthistheorytoevaluationoftheductilityofweldsandengineeringmaterialsundervariousconditionsisexamined.Also,itisusedtopredicttheeffectofresid-ualstressonfailureofwelds,topredictsheetforminglimits,andtocorrelatethevariabilityofelasto-plasticfracturetoughnessvaluesJ1candδcwithdifferentspec-imengeometries.Anewconstraintcorrectionmethodisproposed,andconstraintcorrectednewtoughnessparametersJdcandδdcarerecommended.Experimentshaveshownthatthetoughnessvariationwithdifferentspecimengeometriescanef-fectivelyberemovedbyuseofthemethod.Thegeneralapplicabilityofthetheorytocharacterizationofvariousductilefailuresprovidesanewdesigntoolforengineeringcomponentsorstructures.
