摘要
Inordertostudyselectionindicesforimprovingricegrainyield,acrosswasmadebetweenanIraniantraditionalrice(OryzasativaL.)variety,Tarommahalliandanimprovedindicaricevariety,Khazarin2006.Thetraitsoftheparents(30plants),F1(30plants)andF2generations(492individuals)wereevaluatedattheRiceResearchInstituteofIran(RRII)during2007.Heritabilitiesofthenumberofpaniclesperplant,plantheight,daystoheadingandpanicleexsertionweregreaterthanthatofgrainyield.Theselectionindicesweredevelopedusingtheresultsofmultivariateanalysis.Toevaluateselectionstrategiestomaximizegrainyield,14selectionindiceswerecalculatedbasedontwomethods(optimumandbase)andcombinationsof12traitswithvariouseconomicweights.Resultsofselectionindicesshowedthatselectionforgrainweight,numberofpaniclesperplantandpaniclelengthbyusingtheirphenotypicand/orgenotypicdirecteffects(pathcoefficient)aseconomicweightsshouldserveasaneffectiveselectioncriterionforusingeithertheoptimumorbaseindex.
