SeasonalvariationandtopographyofthemixedlayerintheSeaofJapanarestudiedbycomparisonofresultsfromlong-termobservationdataanalysisandfromnumericalsimulationwiththeMHIoceanicmodel(Shapiro.1998.MarineHydrophysicalJournal,6:26~40).ThedataareretrievedfromOceanographicAtlasoftheBeringSea,OkhotskSea,andJapan/EastSea(Rostov,Rostov,Dmitrieva,etal.2003.PacificOceanography,1(1):70~72).Thesimulatedandlong-termpatternsarecompared.Animpactofsurfacebuoyancyflux,wind,andconvergence/divergenceofsurfacecurrentsuponthemixedlayerintheSeaofJapanisanalyzed.
