Onenewsesquiterpenecompound,namely,illihenlactoneA（1）,andonenewprenylatedC6–C3compound,illihenryioneH（2）,alongwiththreeknownsesquiterpenes（3–5）wereisolatedfromthestemsofIlliciumhenryi.Thestructuresof1and2wereelucidatedbyspectroscopicevidenceincludingNMR,HRESIMSandcirculardichroism（CD）.Compound2exhibitedaweakinhibitoryratioforbglucuronidasereleaseinducedbyplatelet-activatingfactor（PAF）inratpolymorphonuclearleukocytes（PMNs）invitro.
