Theaimofthisinvestigationwastodefinetheeffectivenessofnon-contactdryingusingultrasonicvibrations.Diskradiatorswereusedforcarryingoutexperiments,andaspecialdryingchamberwasdesignedtoprovideresonantamplificationofultrasonicvibrations(from130to150dB).Dryingofginsengandothervegetablesdemonstratedthattheapplicationofultrasonicvibrationsreducedpowerinputsby20%incomparisonwithconvectivedrying.Italsoledtoadecreaseof6%infinalmoisturecontent,ifthedurationofdryingwasconstant.Thelevelofintensificationofultrasonicdryingwashigh(upto50gfor1kgofdryingmaterial),whichhelpedtolowerthetemperatureofthedryingagentandimprovethequalityofthedriedproducts.
